Is Fur Love Made in New Zealand? Here's the Honest Answer
It's one of the questions we get asked most often, and it's a good one to ask. In a market where "natural," "premium," and even country-of-origin claims can be stretched well beyond the truth, we think you deserve a straight answer. So here it is.
Yes, and Here's What That Actually Means
Fur Love is formulated and manufactured in New Zealand. Our warehouse is here. Core members of our team are based here. And our founder, Dr Ineke Meredith, spent the majority of her life here training as a surgeon, building this brand, and raising the dog who started it all.
New Zealand isn't a marketing claim for Fur Love. It's where everything began, where the products are still made, and where the standards that shape this brand were set.
Fur Love is genuinely New Zealand made - formulated, manufactured, and warehoused here, with a team that calls New Zealand home.
Why It Matters Where a Product Is Made
When you put something on your dog's skin, the origin and quality of the ingredients matters enormously. New Zealand has some of the most rigorous standards in the world when it comes to natural ingredient quality and that's not something we take for granted. It's one of the reasons our formulations work as well as they do.
Manufacturing locally also means we have direct oversight of every stage of production. There's no outsourcing to a factory on the other side of the world, no compromise on quality to hit a price point, and no gap between what we say is in the product and what's actually in it. That level of control is something we're not willing to give up as the brand grows.
Local manufacturing means direct quality control, something that matters significantly when formulating products for sensitive dog skin.
Where Ineke Is Now, and Why NZ Still Comes First
In recent years, Dr Ineke Meredith has been based in Paris, where she lives with her husband - a renowned French breast cancer surgeon. Fur Love's growing popularity in France and across Europe means there's now a team on the ground there too, and the brand continues to expand into new markets including the USA.
But the move to Paris has never changed where Fur Love is rooted. The products are still made in New Zealand. The warehouse is still here. And the story of Charli, the labradoodle from New Zealand whose skin problems sparked all of this, is still the story at the centre of everything we do.
New Zealand is where Fur Love started, where the first customers trusted us and where the brand earned its reputation. That doesn't change because the founder now lives in a different timezone.
Ineke living in Paris hasn't changed where Fur Love is made or where its heart is. New Zealand will always be the home of this brand.
A Global Brand With New Zealand Roots
Fur Love now ships to customers in New Zealand, Australia, France, the UK, and the United States. As the brand continues to grow internationally, we're proud that it carries a genuine New Zealand story, not a manufactured one.
When you buy Fur Love, you're buying something made here, by a team that cares deeply about getting it right, for a founder who built this brand because she couldn't find anything good enough for her own dog.
