Odours

Why do odours occur?

If your dog smells a bit funky even after a bath, it’s usually not just “dog smell” - it can be a sign of something deeper. Persistent skin odour is often caused by an imbalance of yeast or bacteria on your dog’s skin, which can build up in skin folds, ears, or moist areas after swimming.

Dogs with skin folds or thick coats can be especially prone to developing smelly skin, particularly if moisture gets trapped. Addressing odours requires a twofold approach: thoroughly cleansing to remove bacteria/yeast buildup and applying products that restore the skin barrier, helping prevent recurring smells.

How Fur Love helps

If your pup's odour lingers even after a bath, Fur Love offers a natural solution to keep them fresher for longer. Our Micellar Cleansing Spritz is perfect for between-bath refreshes, helping neutralise odour-causing bacteria on the skin and coat. Aloe, coconut, and cucumber extracts cleanse and hydrate without irritation.

The Fur & Body Dry Oil works alongside the Spritz to support the skin's natural barrier between washes. A balanced, well-nourished skin barrier is less hospitable to the bacteria and yeast that cause persistent odour, keeping your dog fresher for longer without the need for frequent bathing.
